The Chieftain Center is on schedule to have its grand opening in a matter of weeks, proving partnerships between school and community can have tremendous results.
The LHS Art Department would like to congratulate Grace Mullett, LHS Junior, for being a finalist in two regional art contests this year.
A stand out event for most juniors and seniors is the high school prom, historically held in school cafeterias or banquet halls. According to Lori Holmes, Junior and Senior Class Co-advisor, the Logan High School students are in for a surprise, which will make this year's prom unlike any other in recent history. The 2019 LHS Prom will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019, from 8:00-11:00 p.m. What makes this year unique is the location.
At the Heath Invitational meet, Lanie Bainter won the shot put, by tying her personal record, with 39 feet, 10 inches. Congratulations, Lanie! On Thursday, April 11, 2019, the Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA) recognized Ohio's top seniors from each county, during the 30th Annual Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Awards Program. The nominees for the Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award are high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and participation in extracurricular and community activities.

Chief Logan FFA represented the Hocking Valley very well at the Ohio FFA Spring Skills Career Development Event at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus. 2,261 FFA members from across Ohio competed in various CDE’s. Logan fared very well.
On Friday, April 5, 2019, the Chief Logan FFA Agricultural Mechanic Skills team traveled to The Ohio State University ATI in Wooster, Ohio to compete in the state contest. The team placed 5th at the contest out of the 20 teams that qualified at their respective district contests.
The students involved with the Purple Power Project at LHS have started a new kindness initiative called #BeChieftainKind. With the help of Ms. Norway and Mrs. Atkins, the students created a Be Chieftain Kind Card that encourages people to perform an act of kindness for someone, give the person the card, and ask them to pass it on with another act of kindness. Some examples of acts of kindness are: Share a smile, Open a door, Sit with someone new, Share a snack, Give a compliment, Read to a child, and many more.
