Foundation 45 is sponsoring a 5K Fall Run Walk on October 6th, at the Hocking County Fairgrounds. Foundation 45 was set up in memory of Corey Kissling, a past graduate who passed away a few weeks after he graduated. The Foundation sponsors a local scholarship in his memory. All schools in the Logan-Hocking School District were briefly on a LOCKOUT this morning. There was no direct threat to any school. An incident in the community prompted the Administration to move to a LOCKOUT, to closely monitor traffic entering all schools. Again, there was no direct threat made to any school. This was just a precaution. The lockout has been lifted and school activity is continuing as usual.
The 2018 Biddy Cheer Clinic for football will be held on Sunday, October 7 from 12:30-4:30 p.m. for grades Pre-School thru grade 6.
The Dentist is Coming to School! The Ohio Dental Outreach Program recognizes the importance of providing services to keep children’s teeth healthy. Over the next couple months, state licensed dentists will be visiting each school in the LHSD, to provide services to those students in need of dental care. They offer all services including: routine cleanings, x-rays and fillings, if needed.

Recently the Logan-Hocking Local Board of Education passed a resolution authorizing the administration to seek all legal remedies necessary to return taxpayer money stolen from the District by ECOT and its affiliates. Over $2 million has been deducted from the District since 2002. Attached, is the resolution and press release. LHSD Spearheads Creation of Hocking County Community Fund to Expand Local Opportunities During the August Board of Education Meeting, Heather Keesee of Foundation of Appalachian Ohio (FAO), presented to the board, explaining the scope of their mission, which is to create opportunities for Appalachian Ohio’s citizens and communities by inspiring and supporting philanthropy and allowing the citizens to live in a region abundant with possibilities. The LHSD Administration and Board of Education feel strongly the community can anticipate great things to come, as a result of this partnership with FAO.
