To honor Susan Rinehart, Century National Bank made a $30,000 donation to the Chieftain Center, during the June BOE Meeting. In last night's Board of Education meeting, Matthew Cobel was welcomed as the new student representative of the board. He is a 2018-19 junior who joins senior, Carter Krannitz, as the voice of the student body in the monthly BOE meetings. Welcome Matthew! Reminder of the Summer Lunch Program, which runs through July 26th, every Monday - Thursday, from 11am-1pm. Currently, the lunch is available at Central Elementary. Due to upcoming maintenance work at Central, the lunch program will only be held there through July 19. From July 23-26, lunch will be available at Logan High School. All children up to 18 years of age, or 19-21 with disabilities, are welcome to the free lunches. $2.00 fee for adult meals.
Chieftain Center News - Since the well-attended Chieftain Center Groundbreaking Ceremony, held in April, the construction progress has been steadfast, even with the unpredictable weather. A drive by Logan High School will likely surprise the eye, as the construction fencing provides a near actual size visual of what is to come with the center.
Last week, LHS Girls Golf Coach, Rich Aldridge & Boys Golf Coach, Ben Taulbee, welcomed (20) boys & girls, grade 4-8, to the Hocking Hills Golf Club for another successful summer camp.
Free Girls Basketball Clinic will be held on July 25th, 2018, at Logan High School. Grades 2-4 will be from 4-5:30pm. Grades 5-8 will be from 5:45pm-7:15pm. The clinic will focus on developing fundamental basketball skills. Development of skills will be done through drills & competitions that emphasize shooting technique, ball handling, passing, defense & rebounding. Logan Chieftains Basketball Camp 2018 was well received again this summer. Boys in grades 1-4 attended from 9:00-11:00 AM, followed by boys in grades 5-7.
