Seedlings Art Show
Submitted by: LHMS Art Department
The Bowen House will be packed with color, texture, and much more excitement for the first of the Logan-Hocking School Districtís annual Spring student art exhibits, SEEDLINGS! This year marks the 18th consecutive year for the oldest of the Logan-Hocking Middle Schoolís art exhibits and once again will prove to be a wonderful collection of painting, drawing, print, collage, mixed media, sculpture, ceramic, textile, and other works of art.
The visual arts team of Mrs. Hacker, Mrs. Lehman, and Mrs. Oldham work with their students to kick off National Youth Art Month each year with SEEDLINGS. This is followed up with more opportunities to create exciting art, daily quotes from famous artists shared on the LHMS announcements, visits from guests to repeatedly visit the show throughout itís exhibition run at the Bowen House, and lots more fun!
The public is invited to attend the Opening Reception on Friday, February 28th from
6:00 to 8:00 p.m. along with the student artists, their families, friends, and neighbors. The show will then remain open to the public and all lovers of art during regular Bowen House hours on Wednesdays through Saturdays from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. SEEDLINGS will close on March 21st to make room for the
next collection of art so be sure to visit the Bowen House, located at 196 North Market Street, soon and often to take advantage of this once a year opportunity.
Student art shown here is a sample of the amazing work on display and was created by the following students: Tifani Stevens, 1 Point Perspective in Mixed Media, Grade 5. Hannah Carter, Chalk Pastel Clown Fish with Sea Anemone, Grade 7. Faith Kline, Chalk Pastel Tabby Cat, Honors Art 8.
Be sure to watch for Logan-Hocking Middle Schoolís other Spring student exhibits, Perceptions & the Advanced Art 8 Installation. Details on these shows will be published at a later date.
