Submitted by: Susan Kendig

On Saturday, March 23rd, sixteen vocal soloists from Logan-Hocking Middle School traveled to Whitehall-Yearling High School to participate in the Ohio Music Education Association’s Annual Solo & Ensemble adjudicated event. The young vocalists were evaluated musically against a categorical rubric and then given an overall rating that can range anywhere from 1 to 5, with 1 being considered the top of the scale and referred to as a superior rating.

The Logan-Hocking Middle School Vocal Music Department is proud to announce that all sixteen choral students who prepared pieces for this year’s event received ‘superior’ ratings. Congratulations to Sophia Allen, Tommy Baron, Vicky Bowshier, Abby Delong, Trey Frazier, Josie Funk, Owen Gadrim, Kendyl Glenn, Bryson Greene, Elizabeth Long, Madison McGhee, Isabel Nutter, Mariah Queen, Emerson Sowers, Mackayla Vickroy, and Peyton Wallace. In addition to the performance evaluation forms from the contest judges, each student received an official OMEA certificate designating their superior rating. These are on now on display in the main hallway at LHMS.
